Binding Press by Omnia Libris.
The Fragkioudakis family in Greece who run Omnia Libris have
been making bookbinding press's & equipment for three
generations, the whole family, including the grandfather are
involved in bookbinding in some way or another.
They spent two years developing a unique bookbinding press,
the Omnia Libris 7 in 1 book binding press. A patented design,
Ideal if you are pushed for space, where space is at a premium,
and don't have room for a full compliment of bookbinding
equipment
The Omnia Libris 7 in 1 book binding press has had success
in Greece and France, finding homes with monasteries,
universities, conservator's and book restorers and individual
binders, but this is the first time this equipment has been
made available to the UK & USA.
It combines 7 essential items of bookbinding equipment, made
to very high standards.
Because a picture is worth a thousand words we have not
skimped on the pictures, so you can see for your self the
standard of finish of the 7 in 1 book binding press.
Made of furniture grade beech, we have pleasure in
introducing the Omnia Libris 7 in 1 Book Binding Press.

Lying press.
The press in the lying position the most basic phase of the
bookbinding process- provides a pair of wedge- shaped hardwood
backing boards with bronze- faced bevelled edges. It is easy to
use and readily prepares the book for sewing, gluing and
rounding.
Length of backing boards: 50cm

Sewing Frame.
The sewing frame is located on the base of the unit, located
at such a position as to allow you to work unhindered, what’s
more it can easily be folded down and even removed entirely
from the base unit and used separately.

Plough.
The plough offers you the tool to trim your edges after the
book has been sewn and glued up.
The book cutting guide holds the book during the trimming
process. It can be adjusted to the height of the book.

Paper & Board Cutter.
The press incorporates a board cutter mounted on the base of
the unit. It is designed so as to offer complete safety during
the cutting process. It features high quality self sharpening
curved blades; they will trim 3mm mill board.
The knife of the cutter can be locked, providing safety when
not in use.
The cutter also provides a drop leaf trim shelf and a hand
operated clamp that will hold work securely.
A ruler is marked in centimetres to ensure accuracy. Cuts
cleanly paper, board, film, textiles, leather etc.

Finishing Press.
In the lying position a pair of fine edge boards are
provided in order that books may be clamped securely in place,
allowing them to be lettered or decorated.

Standing Press.
The standing press is used for the final pressing of the
book during the drying process. Its unique design allows the
press element to rotate effortlessly to the vertical position.
A pair of wooden press-plates applies uniform pressure across
the book. Plate dimensions 50cm x 35cm. Daylight 21cm.

Working table.
The rotation ability allows the press elements to fold, thus
offering an alternative working surface.
Working area 47cm x 70cm
