The Best Bookbinding Leather in The World!
This was what Bookbinders Workshops (BBWS) in America was saying about there new range of leathers, made by Franz Hoffmann of Germany.
So it was with some anticipation that I waited for some samples to arrive.
I received the samples a short while ago and I can see why BBWS is over the moon about them, they are far more interesting than so much leather produced in the UK. While being good leather, if I see another skin of Oasis or Clansman I shall expire.
There is a hand marbled leather produced in the authentic period style of sprinkling with dyes and then throwing on water to form veins. A perfect colour for period binding styles.
There are archival quality goatskins 100% sumac tanned and a joy to work with.
The feel of these leathers just exudes quality, have a look at the antique "rind", perfect for blind tooling in early period styles.
You can see our range of Hoffmann leathers at this link:http://www.edenworkshops.com/hoffmann/hoffmann.htm
We supply a sample book of our Hoffmann leathers, for which we ask £10.00, this is fully refundable against any order you place with us.
I am also happy to say that I now supply the leather that I have long sung the praises of.
It is an undyed sheepskin skiver that we used a great deal for making economical leather case bindings like these.

This leather is the best I have seen of it's type, do have a look at it.
YOU CAN NAVIGATE TO THESE LEATHERS FROM THE MENU ON THE LEFT.
