The Book Arts Decorative Box Making

At one stage we employed several assistants who constructed a range of stationery boxes and other stationery items. These boxes and other items were aimed at a very particular market, the corporate gift market.

We developed this range from scratch, and learnt through trial and error how to go about making them.

Our search for an economical method of assembly led us to new adhesives and quite clever methods of construction.

This Pen Pot which proved very popular uses a clever method of construction which makes assembly very easy.

All the components were die cut, again to ensure predictable making.

Having said that, using these ideas and methods you can easily make a one off of any of these boxes.

I will be showing exactly how we made these boxes, together with illustrations as I add to the site.

For the moment, please do have a look at what we made, I have included a few pictures of some of the processes, but will be adding much more as time allows me to do.

Either look to the menu on your left or use these links to take you to examples and techniques used in the making of these boxes.
